JARK built Skyljo's end-to-end AI workforce assessment platform โ from candidate E-KYC and face recognition to camera-based skill calibration and verified certification โ transforming how India's blue-collar workforce is evaluated, hired, and deployed.
THE CHALLENGE
India's skilled workforce was being assessed on gut feel โ not ground truth.
With over 15,000 ITIs conducting 2 million+ assessments annually, India's skill validation system was fundamentally broken. Evaluators would watch a worker perform a task and mark them "good" or "bad" based on personal observation. No standardisation. No granular scoring. No data. A carpenter in Aurangabad and a carpenter in Ahmedabad could pass the same certification through entirely different standards applied by different assessors on different days.
For enterprises like Aditya Birla and Hindalco deploying hundreds of skilled workers across manufacturing plants, this translated directly into productivity loss โ hiring workers who looked certified on paper but couldn't perform on the floor. Trial periods stretched. Retraining costs mounted. Deployment timelines slipped.
The Brief from Skyljo
Build a full-stack AI platform that enables any employer to assess the actual skill level of a blue-collar worker โ using camera-based video AI, not a written test. The platform needs to handle worker registration and E-KYC at scale, run AI-augmented assessments that assist human evaluators rather than replace them, generate granular performance analytics per worker per skill step, and issue verifiable certifications. It has to work in the field, on mobile, across trades from carpentry to civil engineering to plumbing
The product had to be built for real-world field conditions โ low-bandwidth environments, workers who aren't tech-savvy, assessors who need AI to support their judgment rather than override it. And it had to produce a skill score that industry could trust and act on.

Worker Registration & E-KYC with Face Recognition
Workers register on the Skyljo mobile app, select their trade category, and complete a full E-KYC verification โ including Aadhaar-linked identity validation and a face recognition check. Every candidate in the Skyljo system is a 100% verified, genuine professional before any assessment begins. This eliminates proxy assessments and creates a trusted talent pool that employers can access with full confidence. The face matching algorithm prevents impersonation at every subsequent login.

Camera-Based Video Skill Assessment
Instead of a written test or a subjective evaluator observation, Skyljo uses camera-based video recording to capture the worker performing a real trade task โ step by step. The AI vision layer analyses the video against a predefined skill rubric: correct technique, sequence of steps, safety compliance, tool usage, and output quality. This captures actual skill execution that a rรฉsumรฉ, interview, or written test simply cannot โ and does it in a fraction of the time of a traditional on-site trial.

AI Augmentaton of Human Assessors
Skyljo operates on a "Human & Technology" model โ the AI doesn't replace the assessor, it arms them with data. While the assessor observes or reviews the video, the AI simultaneously scores each step of the task, flags deviations, and highlights mastered vs deficient skill components in real time. The assessor's judgment is anchored in objective data rather than subjective impression. This creates assessments that are both trusted by industry and scalable to thousands of simultaneous evaluations โ something human-only evaluation can never achieve.

Granular Performance Analytics & Skill Gap Report
Every assessment generates a detailed analytics report โ broken down step by step, skill by skill. Employers don't just see "pass/fail." They see exactly which steps a worker has mastered, where they are deficient, and what training intervention would close the gap.
